My Story Today

In the past six years I have written three books: The Commandant’s Daughter, Sheelytown and In the Shadows of Expo 1898.  You can read about them in the back pages of this website.   Besides utilizing my grandmother’s diary which reported on the life of a frontlines nurse in WWI, to inspire a life story, I centered my last two books in Omaha, my hometown, back in the day.

Specifically, 1911 for Sheelytown, an ethnic enclave within Omaha, when the packing houses were running strong and 1898 for the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition, In the Shadows of Expo 1898, which served up a World’s Fair-type atmosphere for an event that served as a city for five months dedicated to inspire, realize dreams and explore opportunities west of the Mississippi River.

Thanks for reading and I hope you get a chance to read all three of my historical fiction novels.
